Changing Leaves in Chimney Rock
When we lived in the Carolinas, Chimney Rock, NC, was a favorite weekend getaway. It was less than an hour from where we lived, and it had great gift shops and food, plus a beautiful scenic drive on the way. We were heartbroken to hear of the devastation caused by Hurricane Helene in September of 2024. We haven’t been back since we moved to Washington, but I hope the town recovers someday.
Featherheads was a favorite place to shop. It’s where I got my first Native American flute.
One of the best things about the trip to Chimney Rock along Highway 9 was that there were so many scenic places to stop along the way. We often stopped in Lake Lure for a snack or a coffee.
